Webinar with Julia Gray, Lauder Co-Director.
As geopolitical tensions reshape markets, supply chains, and institutions, firms face a level of political risk not seen in decades. What distinguishes Lauder graduates in this environment? In this webinar, Lauder Co-Director, Julia Gray will examine how the Lauder curriculum trains students to think structurally about global politics and economic order. She will explain how the joint degree model cultivates analytical depth and strategic judgment, alongside regional expertise. This sets Lauder students apart from peers in traditional MBA programs.
Global business leaders can no longer rely on surface indicators of stability. Many international institutions continue to exist, but their capacity to enforce rules or coordinate cooperation has weakened. Recognizing that shift requires ongoing intellectual adaptation. In this session, Julia Gray guides you through her concept of “zombie internationalism” to illustrate how Lauder trains students to update their mental maps of global order. Through the SAS curriculum’s focus on political institutions, regional dynamics, and historical change, Lauder students learn to separate institutional appearance from institutional performance. That habit of structured rethinking is critical for leaders navigating geopolitical volatility and shifting market conditions.
