Attention all Spanish trackers and Hispanophiles! We are organizing an informal webinar to bring together fellow Spanish trackers/Speakers to share how you have used (or not) Spanish in any part of their career. All are welcome! Session will be held in Spanish and/or English. No one should let fluency concerns stand in their way of attending. We look forward to seeing many of you then! Future language gatherings are also in the works, please reach out if you would like to get involved!

LIAA successfully hosted its first Spanish Language Gathering – bringing together alumni from 3 continents. Participants enjoyed catching up and sharing how they’ve used Spanish in their careers and lives even if they weren’t in the Spanish track. Find out what Cat Ho L’13 Chinese track and Halim Gabra, L’92 Spanish track had to say.

"While I didn't technically graduate from Lauder Spanish track, I did move to Mexico City post-Wharton/Lauder and worked in Spanish as the only non-native speaker at A.T. Kearney's local office. It was an extremely motivating language immersion experience and I got very fluent, very fast. After three years in Mexico, I lived in California, Brazil, and now Portugal, where my Spanish underwent a small revival with hiring a Spanish nanny for my baby, so my baby care vocabulary is excellent!"

"I am a Class of 92 Spanish track graduate, and the benefit of learning Spanish, quite astonishingly, only became apparent for my work when I moved to Miami in 2019.. Shows that almost 30 years after graduation, one can still benefit from the Lauder experience. It was rusty at first but it quickly came back (I am a fluent French speaker) and while not as fluent as I used to be upon graduation, I can now attend business meetings and hold casual conversations in Spanish."
